ABOUT THE 2XL BAND

Originally formed in 1984 by guitarist Phil Vigelius, drummer Pat Murphy and keyboardist Jay Jolley, The 2XL Band has been entertaining audiences with live rock & roll for more than four decades.

Based in Michigan, 2XL has built a long-standing reputation for energetic live performances featuring classic rock favorites, dance music, popular hits and original music. Today, The 2XL Band performs throughout Michigan and Florida in several configurations, including the full band, The 2XL Trio, duo performances and Phil Vigelius solo shows.

Throughout its history, 2XL has opened for major national acts including Eddie Money, The Guess Who, Rick Springfield, Burton Cummings, Mark Farner of Grand Funk Railroad and Mitch Ryder.

Meet the Band

Phil Vigelius — Guitar & Vocals

Phil Vigelius is a guitarist, vocalist, songwriter, arranger and record producer and a founding member of The 2XL Band. Phil also owns and operates North Bay Audio, a professional recording studio in Clarkston, Michigan.
Pat Murphy — Drums & Vocals

A founding member of The 2XL Band, Pat Murphy provides drums and vocals and has been an important part of the band’s sound since its formation in 1984.
Bill Vigelius — Bass Guitar & Vocals

Bill Vigelius provides bass guitar and vocals, bringing a strong foundation to The 2XL Band’s live performances.
Jay Jolley — Keyboards & Vocals

​Founding member Jay Jolley brings keyboards and vocals to The 2XL Band. His extensive professional performing experience and powerful vocals have been a key part of the band’s sound.
Dan Colfer — Keyboards & Vocals

​Dan Colfer provides keyboards and vocals, adding another dimension to The 2XL Band’s live sound.
Eric Kot — Saxophone & Vocals

​Eric Kot is an award-winning saxophonist who has performed throughout the Metro Detroit area for many years. In addition to The 2XL Band, Eric has performed as both a soloist and sideman with a variety of artists and projects.
Kim Jensen — Guitar & Vocals

​Kim Jensen provides guitar and vocals and also performs as a member of The 2XL Trio.
Ethan Vigelius — Drums

​Ethan Vigelius adds another generation of the Vigelius family to 2XL, performing drums with the band.
